The cottage was repaired and restored by specialist builders to remain as 'authentic' as possible. The decoration and furnishing are in the same spirit.
The front door opens onto a sitting-room with beams, window seat and Victorian log-burner in an open fireplace. A door leads to the farmhouse kitchen with a large open fireplace, wooden flooring and beams. There is an unusually large cottage stairway with two bedrooms and a bathroom on the landing.

will be working here again looking for the north cloister. The cottage roof timbers were dated by them last year as an amazing C.1270!
